The Lost Tribe of Dan

The Lost Tribe of Dan is the Netherlands.

Seal Date Identification

In general all of the tribes are identified by the use of a seal date. The date is a theoretical date derived from the passage in Revelation 7 where the tribes of Israel are sealed.

Each tribe has a seal date 12,000 days apart -- in the order listed in that passage.

The tribe of Dan is not listed there but is the location from which all of the other tribes are measured. Dan sits on Day 1 of the days. Here is the Date Report:

Union Of Utrecht

The Union of Utrecht was signed by Holland, Zeeland and Utrecht on January 23, 1579.

The document unified most of the northern territories of what would become the Protestant Dutch Republic. The Catholic territories in the southern part of the country would eventually become part of France.

The Union of Utrecht was not recognized internationally until the Peace of Westphalia was signed in 1648 ending the Eighty Years war.

The Union of Utrecht had several additional provinces sign across 1579 and 1580. This spread in signatories across time would be seen again on seal date related documents especially with the United States Declaration of Independence in 1776.

  • August, 1579: Amersfoort, Ypres, Antwerp, Breda and Brussels join.
  • February, 1580: Lier, Bruges, and Groningen join.
  • April, 1580: Zutphen, 1/4 of Guelders, Overijssel and Drenthe join.

Until the signing of this document the Low Countries, what today is the Netherlands, had been under the control of Spain.

This signing is within the tribe and identifying the Lost Tribe of Dan.

The situation in the Dutch Republic was complicated, with lots of internal disagreements between the constituent parts. The following map helps explain the diversity of the country at the time of this agreement.

Union of Utrecht

This seal date has related documents where the signing is spread out over more than 1 year.

Many of the other key dates like this one turn out to have key political events happen on almost exactly the correct date. I have been unable to locate any text that would narrow down this signing date.

The Lost Tribe of Dan is the modern Netherlands and all other affiliated countries.

Ad Hoc Identification

Jacob's pronouncement over Dan is that he would be the Judge of his brothers:

16Dan will judge his people as if the tribes of Israel were 1. Genesis 49:16

This is fulfilled primarily through various courts located in the Netherlands.

These courts and various court related agencies within the Netherlands, fulfill the promise to Dan that he would be the judge of his brothers, the judge of nations.

No other nation judges other nations like the Netherlands, providing a unique identification of the Lost Tribe of Dan in the modern world. This agrees with the seal date identification given above.

International Court of Justice

Commonly called the World Court is a branch of the United Nations where disputes between nations are settled. This court is located at The Hague, Netherlands.

Trouble Taking Land

Dan had a great deal of difficulty taking his own land at the conquest of Canaan during the time of the Judges. The story unfolds that he eventually took a sea coast area near Tyre Judges 18.

This tribe is one of the smallest of the European nations and that size reflects Dan's inability to conquer territory. It was easier to conquer the sea than it was to conquer the land.

Much of the land of the Netherlands is located below sea level, on land reclaimed from the ocean. Fighting the sea was easier than fighting neighbors.

This is another Ad Hoc prophetic match, and is identifying the Lost Tribe of Dan is the Netherlands.
